outhfield-based Korotkin
Insurance Group, a company
that got its start in 1913 pro-
viding personal, commercial, health
and life insurance, has named JARC,
a nonprofit provider of services for
people with developmental disabilities,
as the beneficiary of a $50,000 dona-
tion pledge in celebration of Korotkin's
100th anniversary.
In addition, the company is committed
to raising another $50,000 in matching
contributions, with a variety of commu-
nity events throughout the year, including
Bonus Bingo Night in October, Fall Fix-
Up in November, Baking with Korotkin
Insurance in March, Spring Elation at the
Detroit Zoo in May, Flower-a-thon in June
and Centennial Barbecue at one of JARC's
group homes in July.

Kenneth Korotkin, 61, of Bloomfield
Hills, the great-grandson of the original
founder of the Korotkin family insur-
ance business.
"To spend one day or evening with
the JARC workers and the people they
serve puts a smile on your face."
His daughters Emily Korotkin, 27,
and Andrea Korotkin Belen, 34, are
employed at the family business, too.
"We are so excited to be part of the
fifth generation working at Korotkin
Insurance Group and be able to give
back to the community in such a mean-
ingful way," said Emily Korotkin.
"People with disabilities are the same as
everyone else — they need to feel a sense
of self-worth, hang out with friends at the
movies or a ballgame, and volunteer;' said
Rick Loewenstein, JARC's CEO. "JARC's
mission is to enrich their lives and sup-
port them in the community.
"Korotkin Insurance Group's outstand-
ing donation and yearlong partnership
with us is just a fantastic way for the com-
pany to celebrate its longevity and support
the community in which they've served
for 100 years': said Loewenstein. "Their
financial commitment will make a huge
difference to the individuals we serve"
