BYO-Michigan Region is
beginning the school year
with a cadre of new teen and
adult leaders.
The 2012-13 BBYO Regional Board
members were elected by their peers
and serve as the elected represen-
tatives of the nearly 1,900 Jewish
teens reached by BBYO throughout
Metropolitan Detroit.
"These exemplary leaders highlight
BBYO's focus on teen-led experiential
democracy," said Eric Adelman, direc-
tor of BBYO-Michigan Region. "These
teens set the tone and direction for our

year."
Brianna Dines, senior at West

time said Jason Markowitz, a senior
at Groves High School and the AZA
Regional godol (boys' president). "It's
important to me to take a leader-
ship role in the community. Through
BBYO, I've made friends for life and
had experiences I can't get anywhere
else."

installed a new adult commission led
by new chairman, Andy Kollin. An
alumnus of Akiba AZA, he has been
involved with BBYO for many years
and his children participate in BBYO
programming.
"BBYO has been my passion since
high school:' said Kollin. "Now, as a
