DR. JACK
KAUFMAN, 79, of
Clarkston, died Aug.
22, 2012.
He practiced
internal medicine
and as an aller-
gist in the Detroit
Kaufman
area for more than
50 years. After graduating Phi Beta
Kappa from Wayne State University,
he was accepted early to the Wayne
State University School of Medicine,
graduating at the top of his class. He
was a member of the distinguished
medical honor society Alpha Omega
Alpha in 1957.
Dr. Kaufman loved classical music,
the arts, traveling and was an avid
reader. His love of gardening was
exemplified by the beautiful foliage
and trees he cultivated.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Elaine Kaufman of Clarkston; sons
and daughters-in law, Dr. Michael
and Rhonda Kaufman of Westlake
Village, Calif.; Steven and Nancy
Kaufman of West Bloomfield; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Dr. Brenda and
Dr. Samir Zureick of Bloomfield
Hills; grandchildren, Andrew
Zureick, Adam Zureick, Alexander
Zureick, Rebecca Kaufman, Madeline
Kaufman; sister and brother-in-law,
Barbara and Dr. Burton Weintraub
of West Bloomfield; sister-in-law and
brother-in-law, Sandy and Dr. Stanley
Boykansky of Bloomfield Hills.
Dr. Kaufman was the son of the
late Celia Kaufman and thelate Ben
Kaufman; brother-in-law of the late
Ira Boykansky.
