"because they wanted their chil-
dren to see and remember the
ceremony," Merle said. During
their 68-year marriage, the couple
established several charitable
endowments. One fund for Jewish
Family Service covers prescrip-
tions for medically needy Project
Chessed clients. Sherman Awards
are presented annually to a social
worker at Jewish Senior Life and
a home health care worker at the
Visiting Nurse Association.
Dr. Sherman is survived by his
wife, Sandra Sherman; sons and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Lawrence
Sherman, and Martin Dr. Linda
Wallen Sherman; daughter
and son-in-law, Merle and Ron
Schwartz; grandchildren, Dr.
Robert Sherman (fiancee Heather
Jones), Andrew (Heather)
Schwartz, Eric (Dawn) Sherman,
Sarah (Micah) Herman, Jessica
Sherman, Russell Sherman, Adam
Sherman and Rachel Sherman;
great-grandson, Jacob Asher
Schwartz; sisters-in-law, Marion
Sherman and Marion Kazdan. He
also leaves other family members,
colleagues and friends.
Dr. Sherman was the brother of
Bernard Sherman, the late Gerald
Sherman and the late Norma
Kazdan; brother-in-law of Dr.
Martin Kazdan and the late Rose
Wilner and the late Sam Wilner.
Interment was at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park. Contributions
may be made to Project Chessed,
