Park, died Aug. 14, 2012.
She is survived by her husband,
Seymour Schwartz; sons and daughter-in-
law, Stanley Schwartz of Oak Park, Neil
and Laura Schwartz of West Bloomfield,
Gary Schwartz of Southfield; sister and
brother-in-law, Edith and Eli Grinblatt;
grandchildren, Daniel, Jason, Lindsay;

loving nieces and nephews.

SEGEL, 94, of
Southfield, died Aug. 16,
2012.
He is survived by his

David Pickering of Detroit; sister, Dolly
"Esther" Goldman of Deerfield, Ill.;

Meskin, Geoffrey (Jessica) Pickering and
Leslie Pickering; great grandchild, Caleb;
many loving nieces, nephews, other fam-
ily members and friends.
Dr. Segel was the brother of the late
David Segel.

Interment took place at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery in Livonia.

BLANCHE SILVERMAN, 94, of
Southfield, died Aug. 13, 2012.
She is survived by her beloved husband,
Earl Silverman of Southfield; sons and
daughter-in-law, Gerald Silverman of San
Francisco, Calif., Dr. Larry and Patricia
Silverman of West Bloomfield; daughter,
Dr. Bonita Singal of Ann Arbor; grand-
children, Jack Singal and Kara Silverman;
many loving nieces, nephews, other fam-
ily members and friends.
Mrs. Silverman was the mother-in-law
of the late Dr. Mitchell Singal; the sister of
the late Harriet (the late Irving) Wohl.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment took
place at Clover Hill Park Cemetery in
Birmingham. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.

EARL LEONARD SMITH, 87, of Decatur,
Ga., passed away peacefully on Aug. 12,
2012.
Born to Louis and Augusta Smith in
Dorchester, Mass., he graduated from

Harvard University earning a B.S. in 1946
and an M.B.A. in 1949. He also served
in the U.S. Navy Pacific Theater during
World War II. He was a longtime member
of Ahavath Achim Synagogue.
Mr. Smith is survived by his loving
wife of 62 years, Shirley; his daughters,
Ellen Ratner and her husband, David,
Karen Smith and her husband, Marcus
Helman; his sons, Dan and his wife,
Gaia, and Michael and his wife, Cynthia;
his grandchildren, Alison, Andrew,
Douglas, Natalie, Maayan, Neria, Zachary,
Benjamin and Bailey; his great-grandson,
Amos; his brother, Barry, and his wife,
Sandy.
