PAUL POLSKY, 85,

of Livonia, died July
25, 2012.
He is survived
by his beloved
wife, Sally Polsky
of Livonia; son and
daughter-in-law, Dr.
Polsky
Bruce and Catharine
Polsky of New York;
daughter and son-in-law, Marla and
Oscar Rodriguez of Freemont, Calif.;
brother and sister-in-law, Jack and
Joyce Polsky of West Bloomfield;
grandchildren; Sylvie, Vanessa and
Zachary; many loving nieces, nephews,
other family members and friends.
Mr. Polsky was the son of the late
Hyman and the late Anna Polsky; the
brother of the late Max Polsky.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment
took place at Machpelah Cemetery in
Ferndale. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.

MARVIN JAY SCHIFFMAN, 68, of

Northville, died July 15, 2012.
He is survived by his cousins,
Leonard and Julie Abrams, Leonard
and Maureen Schiffman; and good
friend Keith Elwert.
Mr. Schiffman was the beloved son
of the late Irwin and the late Marilyn
Schiffman; the dear nephew of the
late Myron Schiffinan and the late Leo
Schiffman.
Interment at B'nai Israel Cemetery.

JN

BRUCE N. SCHOLNICK, of
Alexandria, Va., died at age 70 on July
9, 2012. The cause was complications
of cancer.
Born in Detroit, he was a graduate
of Michigan State University and later
attended the University of Southern
California. His career in marketing
took him from Los Angeles to New
York City and finally to Washington,
D.C., and Alexandria where he served
12 years as president and CEO of the
National Wooden Pallet and Container
Association.
Bruce will be remembered as a
devoted friend and colleague, espe-
cially by his coworkers for whom he
served as an exemplar of dynamic,
dedicated, caring leadership.
Bruce was preceded in death by his
loving wife, Elizabeth, and his parents,
Josephine and Morey Scholnick.
He is survived by his loved and
loving son, Matthew; his sisters, Nan
Parker and Penny Laporte, and their
husbands and children. In addition, he

is survived by his friends Terry Zack
and John Pottridge, whose devoted
friendship made them an integral
part of Bruce's family; and by his
dear friend of five decades, Monique
Halpern and her husband, Karol
Szurek.
A memorial service is being
planned. As a remembrance, consider
donations in Bruce's name to the
American Cancer Society.

STEWART
SILVERMAN, 74, of

Waterford, died July
25, 2012.
He is survived by
his wife of 32 years,
Sharon Olshansky;
sons and daughters-
in-law, Frank and
Jill Silverman of
Florida, Harold and Misty Silverman
of Canton; brothers-in-law and sisters-
in-law, Martin and Terry Hollander,
Gary and Suzie Leeman; grandchil-
dren, Erin Silverman, Makayleigh
Silverman, Lexis Silverman. He is also
survived by Sally Lux; many loving
nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Silverman was the beloved hus-
band of the late Marilyn Silverman;
loving son of the late Max and the late
Dorothy Silverman; dear brother of the
late Jean Hollander, the late Elenore
Pasmanter.
