4 pm. Former Detroit klezmer musician, scholar-
ethnographer and filmmaker Yale Strom and
vocalist/composer Elizabeth Schwartz perform
Yiddish songs and Klezmer tunes at Isaac
Agree Downtown Synagogue in Detroit. Yale and
Elizabeth will also weave in stories from their
journeys to Eastern Europe, particularly from

Seniors Concert Features
Yiddish Theater Music

More than 1,200 seniors will be the
guests of Temple Beth El in Bloomfield
Township for the GoldenLand Concerts
& Connections production of "100 Years
of Yiddish Theater Music" with Zlamen
Mlotek, artistic director of the National
Yiddish Theater-Folksbiene, America's
only Yiddish theater. Also appearing will
be Daniella Rabbani.
The concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 15, is
sponsored by Harvey and Lois Freeman.
It is free and open to all seniors. Tickets,
however, are required. To order tickets, call
(248) 851-1100, ext. 3150. The concert will
be wheelchair accessible.
