"Despite all of our problems on the board, we improved services to the residents, streamlining and upgrading many processes:' he noted. Gerald Sukenic, Democrat Sukenic, in his 70s, a real estate broker, first came to the West Bloomfield area 50 years ago and remembers Gerald jogging down the Sukenic middle of Walnut Lake Road, unscathed, for miles. He's a 12-year member of the Parks and Recreation Commission and urges residents to approve two "parks and Tee" millage issues on the ballot. One is renewal of .2435 mills of $1,000 of assessed valuation, and the other is an increase of .35 mills of $1,000 of assessed valuation. "This will maintain resident pro- grams and help preserve the beauty of West Bloomfield," he said. Sukenic also is working to solve the problem of water continually ponding on Drake Road between Maple and Walnut Lake roads.
