incumbent
"I enjoy public
service and want
to continue con-
tributing to the
betterment of the
Steve Kaplan
community," said
Kaplan, 58, seek-
ing his second consecutive term; he
served one previous term as trustee
and two on the school board as a
17-year resident.
"Despite all of our problems on the
board, we improved services to the
residents, streamlining and upgrading
many processes:' he noted.
"The supervisor and I championed
a neighborhood watch program by
volunteers, helping to reduce crime,
and we sponsored an internship pro-
gram for West Bloomfield High School
students."
As an assistant prosecuting attorney
in Macomb County, and now in Wayne
County's Homicide Division, Kaplan
has a 90 percent conviction rate.

assessed valuation, and the other is
an increase of .35 mills of $1,000 of
assessed valuation.
"This will maintain resident pro-

of West Bloomfield," he said. Sukenic
also is working to solve the problem of
water continually ponding on Drake
Road between Maple and Walnut Lake
roads.
