early 2,000 partygoers and 150
volunteers attended this year's
14th annual JARC SpringElation
event on May 30. Guests enjoyed a private
evening at the Detroit Zoo including a
picnic dinner, free parking and access to
many of the Zoo's popular exhibits and
attractions, including rides on the new
Carousel and Tauber Family Railroad.
StarTrax provided live entertainment and
dancing.
New to SpringElation this year was a
special photo booth where guests could
meet and get their pictures taken with
PAWS, the Detroit Tigers mascot.
The fundraising event raised more
than $320,000 for JARC. SpringElation
is the major source of private funding
for JARC's services for children and their

families. All proceeds raised at this event
benefit children with disabilities receiving
services through the organization's Merle
and Shirley Harris Children and Family
Division.
This year's SpringElation event chairs
were Adam Becker of Bloomfield Hills,
Dani Gillman of West Bloomfield and
Julie Hertzberg of Bloomfield Hills. More
than 60 area businesses and 400 families
in the community came together to spon-
sor and support SpringElation.
Quicken Loans, Title Source and
Gilbert Films, Gary Gilbert served as the
official Corporate Presenting Sponsors.
Evolution Media was the event's Video
Sponsor and Bienenstock Nationwide
Court Reporting and Video was the event's

Council of Metropolitan Detroit.
Volunteers participated in
projects such as arts and crafts,
games with seniors, planting
flowers at JARC, decorating
cookies, urban garden planting,
playing with Summer in the City
campers, planting flowers at two
local Project Chessed homes,
Build a Bear and blanket making
for homeless children, and food
packaging at Yad Ezra. E
