A forum will present congressional
candidates from the new 14th District
3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 1, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek in Southfield
"Who Are We? Who are the
Candidates? And Why Does it Matter?"
will be the focus of the forum; the pro-
gram will be moderated by Stephen
Henderson, editorial page editor of the
Detroit Free Press.
The forum will provide an oppor-
tunity to learn about the candidates
running in the newly established
14th Congressional District, which
stretches through southeast Michigan
from Pontiac, West Bloomfield and
Farmington Hills, eastward across the
northern tier of the city of Detroit and
into the Grosse Pointes, and then south-
ward to indude Downtown and Southwest
Detroit.
The forum is presented by the Civic
Engagement Coalition (CEC), a new group
composed of organizations representing
the urban, suburban, ethnic, racial and
religious diversity of the district.
