MEET KADIMA ARTISTS

My photography is a way of keeping all seasons at hand. I hide behind my

camera when I'm nervous, or feel out of place. Flowers don't criticize you.
- Jill (top right)

I draw because I like to draw. I like it more when people pay me to draw. I
don't just work with computers, you know. The art I draw may be disturbing
and perhaps thought-provoking, but I am never in a sour mood when I
draw. -Michael (bottom left)

My art reflects who I am. That's why I like to draw. I have taken an interest
in art since I was 15 years old. I paint pictures by myself without copying
from photos. I use real fruit - oranges, grapefruit and lemons. I like nature
scenes too. - Sharon (bottom right)

system, who could submit works of art
in one of four categories: video, audio,
graphic or essay.
The grand-prize winner, Jakhari
Tolbert, a senior at the Detroit School
of Arts, created a video that opened

continue to use their talents to make a
difference in our community"
