ake a much-anticipated
brunch, give it the theme "The
Greatest Generation" and
combine it with an emcee who will
do — and wear —just about any-
thing for the benefit and enjoyment
of the senior adult community. What
you get is Carol Rosenberg dressed
as a five-star general, complete with
brass buttons and buckle, epaulets,
medals, ribbons and really cool sun-
glasses.
Rosenberg, director of the Jewish
Senior Life of Metropolitan Detroit
(JSL) Foundation, shmoozed her
way through a crowd of more than
300 that included 75 honorees, all of
whom are 95 years and older, with 12
who are older than 100.
Through an extensive search, 400
eligible seniors were identified and
invited to the event, including 23 at
100-years-old and beyond.
Honorees and guests attended
the annual Oldest Jewish Americans
Brunch, coordinated by JSL's
Community Education and Outreach
Committee, in partnership with
agencies providing programs and
services for Jewish older adults.
