The Destination Detroit team organized two trips that incorporated meaningful com-
munity service work focused on the youth of the city. During our first trip to Detroit,

we hosted a field day for the students of Glazer Elementary School. Next, we toured
Focus:Hope, a nationally renowned civil and human rights organization that works to

bridge the racial divide in southeast Michigan through a food program, career training
and the HOPE Village Initiative.

Our second trip was focused on working with young children active in the Latino
Mission Society. We spent more than four hours engaged with students during a field

trip to Belle Isle. Additionally, we received a tour of southwest Detroit and visited the
Heidelberg Project, an open-air outdoor art project in the heart of Detroit's East Side.
