Beth El To Honor
Longtime Volunteer
A highlight of Temple Beth El's
Brotherhood Installation Dinner and
Shabbat service, June 8, will be the presen-
tation of the Robert J. Rosenbush Award to
Marc Zupmore.
The award, first given in
1976, is presented to one
who most personifies
the values held by the
late Bob Rosenbush —
those of study, worship
and acts of loving-kind-
ness.
Marc Zupmore
Zupmore's many acts
of kindness are per-
formed without fanfare and often behind
the scenes. He is the driving force behind
the DTE Energy/Gleaners garden project,
which produces tons of fresh produce
annually to feed the hungry. He also leads
groups to volunteer at Gleaners Food Bank
of Southeast Michigan in Detroit, and he
devotes time to the Michigan Roundtable
for Diversity and Inclusion.
At Temple Beth El, he has worked
throughout the years promoting and par-
ticipating in the Brotherhood blood drives
and, with other Brotherhood volunteers,
planting trees and shrubs to enhance the
grounds. He also is a cook for Brotherhood
Sunday breakfasts, providing the fresh
fruit enjoyed by participants. He is a past
Brotherhood president and currently
serves as its recording secretary.
