Torah In The Headlines
Is Topic At Beth Ahm
This election year, a variety of
issues being debated resonate with
Jewish tradition. These issues will
be the focus of Congregation Beth
Ahm's learning during its Tikkun
Leil Shavuot on May 26.
Professor Howard
Lupovitch will
reflect on the role
that community/
government plays
in our lives when
he presents,
"Individual
Howard
Rights and
Lupovitch
Communal
Obligations:
Rabbinic
Perspectives." With the Trayvon
Martin case as background, Rabbi
Rubenstein will teach about Jewish
views related to self-defense in his
session, "Stand Your Ground: A
Jewish Perspective:'
The Tikkun is open to the com-
munity, and there is no cost to
attend. Learning will begin at 8
p.m. For more information, call
(248) 851-6880.
