Conservative Seminary
To Honor Local Leaders
The Jewish Theological Seminary will
honor community leaders and JTS
alumni during its annual fundrais-
ing dinner 5:30 p.m. Monday, June
4, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in
Southfield.
The evening will feature "Who Wants
to be a Maven?" contest as teams of
Conservative rabbis, cantors and educa-
tors compete for the title of JTS Maven.
Special guest
speaker will be Rabbi
Daniel Nevins, dean
of the Rabbinical
School and dean
of the Division of
Religious Leadership
and former rabbi
of Adat Shalom
Rabbi Nevins
Synagogue in
Farmington Hills.
Shin Award recipients from each
Conservative synagogue will be hon-
ored: Manny and Nancy Kalef, Beth
Ahm; Steven and Linda Mondrow,
B'nai Moshe; Mitch Parker, B'nai Israel;
Steven Parzen, Shaarey Zedek; Jeffrey
and Debra Supowit, Adat Shalom; and
Eric and Reness Zacks, Beth Shalom.

over at Congregation Beth Shalom in
Oak Park with the Rabbi Gamer and his
family Saturday, May 26, at 6:30 p.m. for
Minchah followed by Seudah Shlishit
and an evening of learning.

each lasting about 30 minutes, on a
wide variety of topics. Desserts and cof-
fee will be served.
Guests will be able to stay up late and
play "Ask the Rabbi," Torah Trivia and
