Cooper Harrison Myers, son of Marlene and Steve Myers, will become a bar mitzvah at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield Saturday, Myers May 5. Sharing in this simchah will be his sister Cecily and his proud grand- mothers Bubby Rosalyn Meyer of West Bloomfield and Toby Myers of Barrington, Ill. Cooper is the grandson of the late Zaydie Harvey Meyer and the late Harrison Myers. Cooper attends West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. Among his various mitzvah projects, he volun- teered to pack food on Christmas Day at Forgotten Harvest. Raminick Shelby Raminick, son of Dena and David Raminick, will be called to the Torah as a bar mitz- vah on Friday, May 4, at Temple Shir Shalom in West Bloomfield. Grandparents are Robin Winburn-Woll, Jan Hockenberg, Gail Raminick-Zisholz and Larry Zisholz; his big brother is Noah. Shelby is a student at Clifford Smart Middle School in Walled lake. An animator and artist, Shelby supports Work of Art, a nonprofit organization that awards grant money for art pro- grams in Detroit schools. Jared Michael Small, together with his parents, Kelly Small and Brian Small, will read the Torah in celebration of his bar mitzvah Saturday, May 5, at Small Temple Israel in West Bloomfield. The service will be at 10 a.m. at the Jewish Community Center in West Bloomfield. Each student has completed more than 32 hours of community service, written a paper on a Jewish theme and prepared a speech to be delivered on May 5.
