There is a new and important addi- tion to this wonderful history — Wayne State University's School of Medicine student exchange program with Technion, launched by both institutions in 2011. Last year, the first group of Israeli medical students came to Detroit and continued their medical education on the WSU campus. Just last month a group of Wayne State medical students traveled to Haifa Corrections • In last week's cover story, "Portraits Of Courage," the final two lines on page 11 were missing. The story about the Ravensbruck exhibit at the Holocaust Memorial Center was meant to end with a quote from Holocaust survivor Paula Marks-Bolton, who has spoken to students and visitors at the Holocaust Memorial Center in Farmington Hills. Her comment, which urged her lis- teners to fight bullying, should have read, "Gauging your success in life isn't about how much you own, but what to receive hands-on training in the Israeli medical system. The students involved from each institution have spoken glowingly about their experiences, which some have described as life-altering. Wayne State expects to have 10 to 15 students a year participate in this latest expansion of its international student exchange. Detroiters who have long admired and supported Technion can be justly proud of this newest link between that great university and our own community. Eugene Driker Member, Board of Governors Wayne State University See a story about the program on page 52. have you done to help others?" The exhibit is sponsored by Lauren and Sam Bienenstock. • The story "Korotkin Insurance Group Is Committed To JARC" (April 5, page 31) told of the firm's and the Korotkin family's $50,000 pledge to support JARC and raise an additional $50,000 in matching funds. The story, however, had the wrong telephone number to make contributions. To help the Korotkin Group's Centennial Anniversary Fund reach its $100,000 goal, call (248) 538-6611. Yes. A Short Sale is an ideal way to exit a house under water. The benefit is that you do not spend the next 20 years paying $300,000 for a house that is only worth $195,000. The scuttlebutt in the marketplace that short sales are problematic is false. The key is to make sure you know the priorities. The broker's priority is to close the deal. Your priority is to get the release from the lender on any claim of a deficiency and only then do you close. Our role, as the attorney, is to fight and make sure you gain the release. Time is also ticking, because after 12/31/12 the tax exclusion on canceled debt on your primary residence expires.
