DAY OUT WITH
THOMAS
More than 60 years
ago, a dad with a pas-
sion for trains wanted
to bond with his
son. So he wrote the
Railway Series of clas-
sic stories, out of which grew Thomas
the Tank Engine, who has chugged his
way into millions of train-loving hearts.
For six days only, April 28-29, May 5-6
and May 12-13, Thomas, Sir Topham
Hatt and the rest of his Island of Sodor
friends will visit Greenfield Village for

MOM'S DAY AT THE FARM
Here's a treat for mom she won't soon
forget: Take her out (with the family) to
Kensington Metropark to see how the
farm animal moms — including sheep,
pigs and cattle — take care of their own
babies, see an herb garden, visit the Kids'
Cottage, a "green" structure made from
trees, rocks, soil and plants found mostly
at the park, see field crops and old-fash-
ioned farm equipment on display, then
hop on a horse-drawn hayride (moms
ride free!). Noon-4 p.m., Sunday, May 13.
