DR. WILLIAM ROBY, 89, of West

Bloomfield, died March 9, 2012.
During World War II while serv-
ing as a medic at the Great Lakes
Naval Training Center near Chicago,
he was accepted into the Navy V-12
Program through which he became
a dentist. He also served in the Army
during a doctor/dentist draft in 1956
and moved his family to Colorado,
where they spent two incredible
years.
Dr. Roby loved his work and found
the technical and aesthetic aspects
of the profession immensely satisfy-
ing. He used a holistic approach to
dentistry and his patients loved him.
He continued to take postgraduate
courses throughout his career and
was a well-respected member of the
dental community.
Over the years, Dr. Roby sur-
rounded his home and office with
beautiful art. Long before he retired,
he was making jewelry and then
became a serious sculptor. He
worked with marble, driftwood and
welded steel. Dr. Roby derived tre-
mendous pleasure from sculpting
and participated in many exhibi-
tions, winning several awards. His
art was a true reflection of his soul.
Dr. Roby was married to his
beloved late wife Jenny for 67 years.
They had a wonderful loving mar-
riage and were cherished by their
children. Dr. Roby and Jenny had a
nightly ritual of dancing and singing
with Artie Shaw and other Big Band
greats and continued to dance until
the last days of their lives.
Dr. Roby is survived by his sons
and daughter-in-law, Jim Roby
and Leslye Orloff of Maryland and
Mark Roby; daughter, Laura Roby of
Bloomfield Hills; sister and brother-
in-law, Phyllis and Stuart Parker;
brother, Jerry Roby; brothers-in-
law and sisters-in-law, Allen and
Lita Zemmol, Bernard and Carolyn
Zemmol, and Lois Zemmol; nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
He was the beloved husband of
the late Jenny Roby; the dear brother
of the late Doris Roby; the loving
brother-in-law of the late Walter
Zemmol; the loving devoted son-
in-law of the late Julius and the late
Anna Zemmol.
Interment was at Beth El
Memorial Park. Contributions

ALTON ROHAN, 89,

of West Bloomfield,
died March 30, 2012.
He is survived by

and Larry Kraft of Bloomfield Hills;
grandchildren, Spencer Steel, Bradley
Steel, Ryan and Sarah Mandell,
Nickolas Guttman, Dana Kraft, and
Carly and Keith Wurn; great-grand-
children, Libby Diane Mandell and
Hudson Levi Wurn; brother, Sandy
Halpern; sister-in-law, Lillian Rohan.
He is also survived by his special
friend Lee Beck; and caregivers, Neve,
Wilma and Clarice.
Mr. Rohan was the beloved hus-
band of the late Lorraine Rohan; the
cherished brother and brother-in-law
of the late David Halpern, the late
Arnold Rohan, the late Estelle and the
late King Dansky, the late Abe and the
late Marie Robbin, and the late Max
Rohan.
Interment was at Beth El Memorial
Park. Contributions may be made to

MARSHALL WALLACE, 85, of

Farmington Hills, died March 26,
2012.
He is survived by his wife of 58
years, Dorie Wallace; daughter and
son-in-law, Suzi and Stuart Epstein of
West Bloomfield; sons and daughters-
in-law, Steven and Robin Wallace
of West Bloomfield, and Jeffrey
and Cheryl Wallace of Englewood,
Colo.; grandchildren, Laren and Rob
Midelton, Jason Epstein, Ben, Sam,
Jake, Britani and Brandon Wallace;
sisters-in-law, Renee Wallace and
Harriet Wallace; other loving relatives
and friends.
Mr. Wallace was the cherished
brother of the late Stanford Wallace
and the late Arnold Wallace; the dear
brother-in-law of the late Shirley and
the late Leon Rubenstein.
Interment was at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be
