The award will be presented in June 2012 at the Scholars Conference of the Academic Council of the American Jewish Historical Society in New York. The medal is awarded biennially by the American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS) to an individual deemed to have rendered distinguished service in the field of American Jewish history. The committee chose Dash Moore "on the merits of her eminent scholarship, innovative contributions, mentorship of younger scholars, and ongoing leader- ship in the field." Rachel Sweet, 18, was named "Miss Lawrence Tech 2012" at a pageant hosted by the university in early February. She is the daughter of Ben and Remy Sweet and the Sweet youngest sister of Jeremy, Amanda and Isaac. Her very proud grandmother is Shirley Sweet. Rachel is a freshman at Lawrence Technological University, studying audio engineering. Contestants are asked a random question that could range from politics, current events or involving their platform statement. Rachel's topic was human trafficking. One lucky winner will receive one round trip courtesy ticket to Israel meetings. Cook is the technology director for the Blissfield School District in Michigan. He earned a bach- elor's degree at Adrian College and a master's degree in educa- Cook tional technology from the University of Michigan. His parents are Barbara and Jerry Cook. The Arc of Oakland County marked National Developmental Disabilities Month by naming Farmington Hills-based JARC as the Provider Agency of Graff the Year at the annual Dove Awards. Also honored is Richard Graff of Oak Park, a participant in JARC's Independent Living Services program, with the Sheldon Dunn Inspiration Award for spearheading the annual "Heart To Heart" social action project, which pre- pares and delivers candy gift baskets and cards to sick and needy children. At the annual meeting of the Michigan Association of Computer Users in Learning (MACUL), Matthew Cook was named Outstanding Technology Coordinator of the Year. He has been a presenter at several prior annual Sixteen-year-old Tova Braver, a student at Bais Yaakov of Detroit, has been accepted as the fashion editor on the editorial board of YALDAH Magazine, a national magazine "for Braver Jewish girls, by Jewish girls."
