Kay 100th

B

essie Kay of Southfield celebrated
her 100th birthday on Feb. 2. She
celebrated at Lelli's on the Green in
Farmington Hills with her daughters-in-law,
Maureen Kay and Judy Kay, as well as her
six grandchildren, Mark, Randy, Lisa, Scott,
Alisa and Kevan. Her great-grandchildren,
many great-nieces and great-nephews, and
many friends also helped her celebrate this
wonderful occasion.

wren and Howard Frehsee of
West Bloomfield are excited to
announce the engagement of their
daughter Nicole Erin to Joel David Mazur,
son of Suzanne and Michael Mazur of
Farmington Hills.
Nicole earned her B.A. in history at the
University of Michigan and a master's
degree in journalism at Northwestern
University She's a former editor at Rolling
Stone and a freelance magazine writer.
Joel earned his B.B.A. from the University
of Michigan and is a vice president at Beech
Street Capital, a commercial real estate
finance company.
Nicole and Joel grew up near each other but met by chance in 2009 while
watching a Red Wings game at a bar in New York, where they lived at the time.
They now reside in Chicago.
A summer wedding is planned in Michigan.

oan and Jerry Penfil of West
Bloomfield celebrated their 60th wed-
ding anniversary March 2. They will
mark the occasion on March 18 when they
renew their vows at Congregation Dovid Ben
Nochim. Participating will be their children,
Tih Penfil and Shira Schiff, Shari and David
Klein, Jay Penfil and Helen Penfil; grandchil-
dren, Noah and Shira Klein, Yonah and Leah
Klein, Yosef and Keren Klein, Aryeh Klein,
Levi Klein, Mara Penfil and Michael Penfil;
great-grandchildren, Dena, Sari, Binyomin,
Esther, Avigail, Yael, Eliyahu and Alexander.
Also in attendance will be many friends and other relatives from across the U.S.
and Israel.
