Hoffert & Associates:

a Haymisheh property law and taxation firm with a sense of humor

From the second you walk off the elevator and view the lobby of Hoffert & Associates you get a feeling of serenity. Giant saltwater
aquariums abound in the lobby and throughout the suite of offices.
Myles B. Hoffert heads a team of seasoned taxation attorneys who know the business of property tax and the law.
Hoffert has practiced law for 32 years. Combining his experience as an accountant with Price Waterhouse & Company and as an
attorney in a 24-member law firm, he subsequently assembled the team of qualified attorneys and tax consultants that has grown Hoffert
& Associates to a legal firm of national renown, with over 80 collective years of experience in property taxes.
Hoffert's collection of autographed NFL helmets covers a 20-foot wall that's visible just beyond the reception area. He also collects
autographed baseballs. College and NFL football as well as Major League baseball are his passions when he's not practicing law.
Some of their clients include the Detroit Lions' training facility in Allen Park; Ford Field and the Guardian Building.
In truth, Hoffert & Associates does more personal property tax appeals than any other firm.
On February 20th, Hoffert & Associates came to the rescue of a Jewish Country Club, Knollwood when they won a significant victory
before the Michigan Tax Tribunal in a four-day trial. Hoffert reduced the club's property taxes dating back 11 years saving Knollwood a
substantial amount of money; Hoffert also won a Supreme Court decision that struck down a statute defining the Proposal A cap on
property taxes. They recently won a major property tax appeal for Links of Novi when the golf course turned residential.
Always ready to impart information, Hoffert holds many free seminars and frequently speaks on Property Tax issues. The firm has
employed three former Tribunal Judges including a Chief Judge.
"The best part is that we work on contingent fees so we don't get paid unless we're successful," said Hoffert.
In the meantime, they work hard for their clients and have fun with an easy-going demeanor. A framed drawing by Myles' granddaughter
best sum it up: "I love you grandpa, even though you take lots of naps."
