JONATHAN DAVID HYAMS, 84, of Oak Park, died Feb. 26, 2012. Mr. Hyams was an Army Air Force vet- eran. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in Hyams 1987. He served dur- c. 1955 ing World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was an assis- tant wing legal officer of Sheppard Air Force base in Texas and then worked with the Judge Advocate General Office in Greenland. After leaving the Armed Forces, he worked with Allen Products as a comptroller. Mr. Hyams is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Alfred and Geraldine Hyams; sisters, Sue Sendler, Charlotte Dubin; loving nieces and nephews, Laurie Rappeport, Rabbi Dov and Michal Sendler, Rabbi Binyamin and Tovah Sendler, Rabbi Tzvi and Chani Sendler; many other loving nephews and nieces, other rela- tives and friends. Arrangements by Hebrew Memorial Chapel. DR. SANDER KLEIN, 93, of West Bloomfield and more recently of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., died on Feb. 22, 2012, after a lengthy illness. Klein He was born Feb. 24, 1918, in Detroit. Dr. Klein served in World War II as a physician and achieved the rank of major. After being honorably discharged, Dr. Klein practiced internal medicine and endo- crinology for more than 50 years in the Metro Detroit area. He practiced at Sinai, Mt. Carmel and Beaumont hospi- tals. Dr. Klein also served as a professor at Wayne State University School of Medicine and published in many medi- cal journals throughout his career. Dr. Klein is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Margot Klein; sons and daughters-in-law, Marshall and Manette Klein, Gary Klein, and Rodney and Alicia Klein; grandchildren, Morgan, Devin, Kyla, Aaron, Jacob, Matthew, Rachel and David Klein, and Morgan and Maggie Kite; sister-in-law, Maxine Klein of Tampa, Fla. He was pre-deceased by his younger brothers, Dr. Herman Klein and his wife, Sue Klein, and Myer Klein. Interment was at Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
