Friendly teen tournament
raised money to help
Friendship Circle

T

he Friendship Circle gymna-
sium in West Bloomfield rever-
berated with energy Saturday
night, Feb. 4, as 85 teens from high
schools throughout the area participated
in a dodge ball tournament/fundraiser.
It was an evening filled with fun, food
and friendly competition as 16 teams
vied for the championship. The winning
team was from Frankel Jewish Academy
in West Bloomfield, beating the players
from North Farmington High School in a
final showdown.
"It was a great night with a lot of great
games of dodgeball," said Ben Ruff of West
Bloomfield, a Walled Lake Central student.
"We should definitely keep on doing it'.'
Each player paid $20 to participate,
and slightly more than $1,000 was raised
from the event, according to Rabbi
Yarden Blumstein, coordinator of the boy
volunteers for Friendship Circle.
"It was a fun and competitive time
and, better yet, it helped a great cause
said Evan Brickner, who attends Walled
Lake Northern.

Adat Shalom's Open Gym

program welcomes all to

dat Shalom Synagogue in
Farmington Hills will hold
an Open Gym from 10 a.m.-
noon on Friday, Feb. 24. Parents are
invited to schmooze while their chil-
dren play in the synagogue's Muscle
Room — an indoor playground.
Preschool and younger children
with parents are welcome. Drinks
and snacks are provided. There is no
charge. The community is welcome.
