JCRC Accepting
Board Nominations
The Jewish Community Relations
Council is accepting nominations for
its 2012-2013 board of directors.
Candidates should be leaders
within the Detroit Jewish community
who are able to make a commitment
to the public affairs agenda the JCRC
pursues on behalf of its member
organizations and the entire Jewish
community.
To nominate a candidate, con-
tact the JCRC at (248) 642-5393, or
download a nomination form from
the JCRC's website, detroitjcrc.org.
Nominations must be received by
Wednesday, Feb. 29.
All nominations will be submitted
to the JCRC's nominating committee.
The slate of officers and board mem-
bers will be announced in the spring
and voted on at the JCRC annual
meeting.

BBYO Connect Offers
Babysitting Course
BBYO Connect and the American Red
Cross are offering a Babysitting Boot
Camp class 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday,
Feb. 24, in the teen center at the
Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield. Participants will become
certified babysitters.
The babysitting course is open
to Jewish teens ages 11-15. Topics
include feeding and bathing, playing
appropriate games, bedtime, disci-
plinary issues, CPR and handling
emergencies.
Participants will receive a cer-
tificate they can show to potential

babysitting parents. The Red Cross
charges $70 plus a $15 book fee.
Need-based scholarships are avail-
able through BBYO Connect.

Passover Tables
Temple Beth El in Bloomfield
Township will host its third annual
Passover Table event on Thursday,
March 1. Guests will enjoy cocktails
and hors d'oeuvres while viewing
creatively designed Passover-themed
table-scapes of more than 30 talented
table designers.
New this year is the High Tea,
which will feature a flower arrange-
ment demonstration by Gerych
Graziella designer Jon Gerych.
Neiman Marcus will host a prelude
party for sponsors and patrons on
Thursday, Feb. 16.
Co-chairs are Jill Syme and Carol
Ziecik of Bloomfield Hills. The hon-
orary chairs are Lil Erdeljan and Fair
Radom of Bloomfield Hills and Elyse
Foltyn of Birmingham. Proceeds
from the evening will benefit the life-
long educational programs of Temple
Beth El.
Ticket prices are $35 for the High
Tea (noon-3 p.m.); $75 for the
Cocktail Party (6-8:30 p.m.); and
$125 for Patron's Prelude Party, High
Tea and Cocktail Party.
