The movie tells the inspiring story of Temple Grandin, animal behavioral sci- entist and one of the most accomplished and well-known adults with autism in the world. This inclusive show will include the talents of individuals with special needs and is open to the entire community. In addition to the talent show, the evening will feature projects from Art from the Heart for sale before and after the event. tbeJEMS,-iNEWS.corn ZOA Offers Scholarships To Israel-Bound Teens The Zionist Organization of America- Michigan Region is offering scholarships of up to $1,000 to outstanding middle and high school students participating in an organized educational trip to Israel (for example, Teen Mission 2012, BBYO, NFTY, NCSY and USY summer trips or yearlong study). To be eligible to apply for a scholarship, students need to first participate in ZOA- MI's first-annual Israel Education Student Workshop 1-6 p.m. Sunday, March 18, at the West Bloomfield JCC. Workshop topics will include Israel's 3,000-year history, the Arab-Israeli conflict, Jewish heritage and Israel advocacy. Scholarship applications will be handed out at the workshop and applicants will submit an essay and may participate in an interview with the ZOA Scholarship Committee. JCC To Honor Four At Florida Golf Event The Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit will host the sixth annual JCC Michigan-Florida Golf Classic on Tuesday, March 13, at the Boca Lago Country Club in Boca Raton. The event will honor Bernice Garon and Robert Feldman and Lauren and Marvin Daitch, all of Delray Beach, with proceeds benefitting the JCC's Center Day Camps, the Sarah & Irving Pitt Child Development Center and programming for children with special needs. In addition to golf, this year's Classic features card games and mah jong. Bernice Garon is group coordinator for the American Cancer Society, a docent at the Holocaust Memorial Center and a teacher at Hillel Day School. Robert Feldman is a sport enthusiast whose passions include golf, baseball and boxing. Lauren and Marvin Daitch are long- time activists in the Metro Detroit community. Marvin works in com- mercial mortgage banking, real estate management and development. Lauren Daitch has been active with the Jewish Federation's Women's board of directors, board of governors and advisory commit- tee and serves on the boards of JFS and the Federation Apartments.
