For The Rest Of Us!
Festivus event offers cool option for Christmas night.
ore than 500 young
people decided that
Christmas Day evening
was better spent with
friends having fun at a bar rather than
out for Chinese food and a movie with
family. Tough decision.
Fifth Avenue in Royal Oak opened
especially for the event, "Festivus! For
the Rest of Us," co-sponsored by Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan Detroit's
CommunityNEXT and ComePlayDetroit.
Local singer-songwriter/musician Josh
Smith performed.
A recent change in Michigan law
made it only the second year in decades
that bars could be open and serving
alcohol on Christmas Day evening.
