Professor Rockaway To Speak At HMC Robert Rockaway, native Detroiter, now professor emeritus in the Department of Jewish History at Tel Aviv University, will return to the Holocaust Memorial Center (HMC) on Sunday, Jan. 15, for a brief but in-depth retrospective on "Three Infamous Anti-Semitic Trials: Alfred Dreyfus, Mendel Beilis and Leo Frank." The three trials were France's pros- ecution of Alfred Dreyfus for treason, Russia's blood libel trial of Mendel Beilis, and Georgia's trial and lynching of Leo Frank of Atlanta. Each of them influenced the course of Jewish history and each had an impact on the nations where the trials occurred. Professor Rockaway will speak to the "how and why this occurred."
