hanukah began on Tuesday
night, but it's not too late to
add to your enjoyment of
the annual Festival of Lights. Here are
some online options that will provide
meaningful family entertainment.
Hold a Jewish trivia quiz. What does
the Hebrew word Chanukah mean?
What type of foods do we specificaly
eat on Chanukah? What activities
are forbidden during Chanukah? Are
woman obligated to light the menorah?
How many candles do we need for all
of Chanukah? Which family was Judah
the Maccabee from? How many branch-
es did the menorah in the Temple have?
These questions are examples from
the multiple-choice quiz at
www.jewish-trivia.com . There are two
levels of questions and two timer set-
tings. Both kids and adults will find it
educational and enjoyable.
Whether you need a picture for your

child's class project, a

Years ago, at the suggestion of a
friend, Vicki Zaft came to Hebrew
Free Loan for help with moving
expenses when she sold her condo.
In treatment for cancer at the time,
the loan gave her one less concern.
She moved, continued her treatment
and repaid the loan.
Vicki had some subsequent health
issues, and approached HFL again
last year when she needed dental
work. Her loan was made possible
by a grant from The Jewish Fund to
HFL's Project HEAL, which helps
cover health care-related needs.
"Like most people, I do my best.
I have a job as a travel consultant,
and I make and sell jewlery and
mosaics. I'm okay, but I certainly
can't retire," Vicki said. "So when
something urgent comes up, it's
great to have somewhere to turn.
"Having had cancer taught me
how to ask for help, and coming to
HFL was an easy and comfortable
experience," Vicki said. "We're really
very lucky to have this kind of support
and compassion in our community."

The story doesn't end here.

Health. A fresh start.
A good education.
The next great idea.

Hebrew Free Loan gives interest-
free loans to members of our
community for a variety of
personal and small business
needs. HFL loans are funded
entirely through community
donations which continually
recycle to others, generating
many times the original value
to help maintain the lives of
local Jews.
