DORIS FRIEDMAN,
90, of West
Bloomfield, died Nov.
30, 2011.
She is survived
by her son, Dr.
Harold Friedman
of Boynton Beach,
Friedman
Fla.; daughters and

and Mark Iovan of
West Bloomfield;
sister, Charlotte
Grunbaum of

Orit Friedman, Danielle Dentamaro,
Samantha Iovan, Stephanie Iovan;
great-grandchildren, Michah
Friedman, Saul Friedman; nephew,
Sam Horn.
Mrs. Friedman was the beloved wife
of the late Eugene Friedman; dear sis-
ter of the late Rose Horn.
Contributions may be made to a
charity of one's choice. Interment
was held at Oakview Cemetery in
Royal Oak. Arrangements by Hebrew
Memorial Chapel.
DR. ROBERT M.
GALIN, 76, of
Beverly Hills, died
on Nov. 23, 2011.
He lived an exem-
plary life, leaving his
indelible mark on
those who knew and
Galin
loved him.
Dr. Galin was a member of the first
graduating class of Mumford High
School. He attended the University
of Michigan and graduated from its
dental school in 1959. He served as
president of Alpha Omega Dental
Fraternity during dental school and
later as president of its Detroit alumni
chapter. He chaired a program through
Alpha Omega to provide for the dental
needs of Detroit's Russian immigrants.
He practiced dentistry for 35 years,
following his father in the family prac-
tice. So admired was Dr. Galin by his
patients that more than 100 of them
organized his retirement party.
Dr. Galin was a proud third-genera-
tion member of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek.
A loyal supporter of the University
of Michigan and avid Wolverine fan,
Dr. Galin cherished attending games
with his children and friends.
Dr. Galin is most remembered for
his kind heart, outgoing personality
and endearing sense of humor.
He leaves his beloved wife, Elayne;
devoted children, Steven (Lynn)
Greenspan of Basking Ridge, N.J., and
Natalie (Gary) Robinson of Franklin,
Mass.; six cherished grandchildren,
Lauren and Mia Robinson, Joel,
Arielle and Nathaniel Greenspan, and
Cameron Mourey-Roth; his brothers,
Gary (Gina) Galin of Southfield, and
Dr. Clark (Wendy) of Plantation, Fla.;
sister, Sharon (Bill) Appel of Boyton
Beach, Fla.
He was the devoted son of the late
Dr. Louis and the late Rebecca Galin.
Services were held at the Ira
Kaufman Chapel with interment at
Clover Hill Park Cemetery.
I. GERALD KEPES, 85, of West
Bloomfield, died Nov. 28, 2011.
He is survived by his beloved wife,
Evelyn Kepes of West Bloomfield;
daughters and sons-in-law, Jan Kepes
and Scott Silver of Encino, Calif.,
Debra and Fred Jacobs of Bloomfield
Hills; son and daughter-in-law, Steven
and Dorene Kepes of Clawson; grand-
children, Joshua Silver, Ariel Silver,
Benjamin Silver (fiancée, Tracey
Fagelbaum), Gabriel Silver, Alyssa
Silver, Allison Jacobs, Mickey Jacobs,
Heather Kepes; brother-in-law, Lee
Kepes, Ron (Mitzi) Brown; many lov-
ing cousins, nieces, nephews, other
family members and friends.
He was the grandfather of the
late Cindy Kepes; brother of the late
Stewart Kepes.
Contributions may be made to Yad
Ezra, the Friendship Circle or the
Lindsey Ann Shapiro Memorial Fund
at Beth Shalom. Interment took place
at the Adat Shalom Memorial Park
Cemetery in Livonia. Arrangements by
Dorfman Chapel.
PHILIP "PINKY"
SALOMON, 79, of
West Bloomfield,
died Nov. 29, 2011.
He was a com-
mercial roofer for 47
years.
Mr. Salomon is
survived by his wife
of 57 years, Lenore Salomon; sons and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Albert and Dr.
April Salomon of Gahana, Ohio, and
Michael Salomon of Valley Glen, Calif.;
daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Susan
Salomon Kresch and Eddie Kresch of
Oak Park; grandchildren, Greg, Jeff,
Amanda, Scott and Allie Salomon, and
Max, Talya, David and Atara Kresch;
sister and brother-in-law, Elayne and
Don Ritten; brothers and sisters-in-
law, Dr. Allan and Leslie Salomon and
Dr. Jack and Audrey Salomon; brother-
in-law and sister-in-law, Sheldon and
Sheila Swartz; many loving nieces,
nephews, cousins and friends.
