HERMAN
CANNER, 95, of
Bloomfield Hills,
died Dec. 1, 2011.
He was born in
Cincinnati, Ohio,
in 1916 to Aaaron
and Mary Canner.
In 1825, the fam-
ily moved to Detroit. Herman later
graduated from Central High School.
In 1933, he started to work for Wesley
Baking Company. In 1935, he enrolled
at Wayne State University and, in 1937,
transferred to the General Motors
Institute in Flint.
In 1941, Mr. Canner moved to St.
Louis, Mo., to run a group of engineers
at Emerson Electric. Back in Detroit
in 1942, he and two others started the
Sterling Engineering & Manufacturing
Co. In 1946, he helped to start Applied
Plastic Products Co. The year 1992 saw
Mr. Canner starting Sterling Systems
and, in 2003, he formed a partnership
called the HJR Holding Company.
He is survived by his wife of 73
years, Pauline Canner; sons and
daughters-in-law, James and Susan
Canner and Robert and Raelon
Canner; grandchildren, Dr. Jason and
Dr. Janie Canner, Jennifer Canner,
Kimberly Sternberg, Linda Hoffman,
Kristi and Craig Kallen, Carl and
Julie Routzahn, Michael and Lauren
Canner, and Jillian and Jeffrey Foster;
great-grandchildren, Carson and Chloe
Kallen, Max and Will Canner, Peyton
Routzahn and Quinn Canner; sister-
in-law, Lorraine Canner.
Mr. Canner was the loving brother
of the late Marvin Canner and the late
Bernard Canner; the dear brother-
in-law of the late Edith and the late
Sidney Deitch, and the late Israel and
the late Anne Weiner.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

of West Bloomfield,

Okemos; grandchildren, Ashley and
Justin Ceresnie, Michael Cutler, Sarah
Casman and Ryan Casman.
For 55 years, Mrs. Casman was the

beloved wife of the late Paul Casman;
she was also the loving sister of the
late Shirley Walker.

Ms. Chandler was the beloved wife
of the late Dr. Douglas Chandler; the
cherished mother of the late Ellen
Chandler Alter and the late Barbara
Chandler.

DAVIDSON, 62, of
Birmingham, died
Dec. 4, 2011.
She was a speech
pathologist. She
was a volunteer and
facilitator for the
Davidson
Karmanos Cancer
Institute's Weisberg Cancer Center in
Farmington Hills, where she facili-
tated meditation classes and support
groups. She was also a member of the
Women's Division of the Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit and a member of
Knit Wits, a women's group that knitted
items for cancer patients and survivors.
Mrs. Davidson is survived by her
husband of 41 years, Jeffrey Davidson;
son and daughter-in-law, Ian and
Adrienne Davidson; daughter and son-
in-law, Janna and Christopher Gilbert;
grandchildren, Maia and Quinn
Davidson and Ryan Gilbert; sister
and brother-in-law, Sharon and Larry
Elowitz; sisters-in-law and brothers-
