MANDEL
CHUDNOW, 81, of
West Bloomfield,
died peacefully Nov.
14, 2011.
He touched many
lives in Detroit area.
He and Toby were
Chudnow
married 58 years
ago at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek by the late Rabbi
Morris Adler.
In 1956, Manny and Toby began
selling typewriters and adding
machines out of the family home,
ultimately the family business. Fifty
years later, Manny Chudnow's Better
Business Systems is still located in
Ferndale.
Mr. Chudnow was a founding
member of B'nai B'rith Oakland
Century Lodge and a lifelong mem-
ber of Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
Beginning in 1980, the couple
became world travelers. They taught
ballroom dancing on cruise ships
and led Passover seders as well as
Chanukah and Shabbat services on
the high seas. Their hobby was visit-
ing synagogues throughout the world,
often breaking bread and spending
Shabbat with local community leaders.
Mr. Chudnow is survived by sons
and daughters, Edward and Frances,
Jordan, Michael and Omer, Evan and
Leslie; grandchildren, Benjamin,
David, Daniel, Joshua, Stefani, Hillell
and Reemone; 24 nieces and nephews.
Interment was held at Clover Hill
Park Cemtery. Contributions may
be made to Frankel Jewish Academy
in West Bloomfield, B'nai Israel
Synagogue of West Bloomfield or
Yad Ezra. Arrangements by Dorfman
Chapel.

RUTH DAVIS, 97, of
Southfield, died Nov.
21, 2011.
She is survived by
her daughters and
sons-in-law, Barbara
and Leon Keer of
Illinois, Marcia and
Davis
Larry Ferstenfeld
of Southfield; son, Lawrence Davis;
grandchildren, Patricia and David
Munro, Jacqueline Keer, Harold and
Amy Keer, Michael and Cindy Keer,
Ahuva Yona and Avraham Mifsud,
Amy Koslowski, and Pinna and
Nissan Maza; 17 great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild.
Mrs. Davis was the beloved wife of
the late Herman Davis.
Interment at Hillside Memorial
Cemetery in Los Angeles, Calif.

PEARL RESSLER
FELDMAN, 97, of
West Bloomfield,
died Nov. 18, 2011.
She is survived
by her daughters
and sons-in-law,
Jackie and Mark
Feldman
Wedes of West
Bloomfield, Gail and Dr. David Amster
of West Bloomfield; grandchildren,
Dr. Solomon Amster, Mathew Amster,
Stephanie Amster and Dr. Samuel
Wedes.
Ms. Feldman was the beloved
wife of the late Marvin Ressler, the
late Harold Ressler and the late Sam
Feldman.
Interment at Oakview Cemetery

SUE ANNE GERSHENSON, died Oct.
25, 2011.
She grew up in Detroit and moved
to California to attend UC Berkeley,
receiving her BA in psychology and
then her MSW. Later in life, she went
to law school and graduated in 1992.
She then taught Cambodian judges,
who would return to be leaders in the
post-Pol Pot Cambodia.
She worked as a social worker, cor-
porate trainer and attorney. But it was
her volunteer work in the Peace Corps
both in Nepal, as a volunteer 2000-
2002, and then locally, as a recruiter,
that won her passion. She loved being
physically active as a hiker, skier, bicy-
cler and world traveler. Recently, she
worked on the Tibetan Oral History
Project.
The family lost Sue to cancer this
year and the world is a poorer place.
She is survived by many relatives and
many, many close friends who loved
her.

SOL GOLD, 99, of
Keego Harbor, died
Nov. 14, 2011.
He is survived by
his son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Martin
and Madeline Gold
of Bethesda, Md.;
Gold
daughter and son-
in-law, Rhoda and Ted Kahn of West
Bloomfield; grandchildren, Jeremy
and Elizabeth Kahn, David and
Leonie Kahn, Daniel Kahn and Janet
Williamson.
Mr. Gold was the beloved husband
of the late Dina Gold; dear brother and
brother-in-law of the late Irving and
the late Rose Gold, the late Dora and
