BASEMAN, 89, of

West Bloomfield,
died Nov. 20, 2011.
She is survived by
her son and daugh-
ter-in-law, David and
Sharon Baseman of
Baseman
Huntington Woods;
daughter and son-in-law, Sandra B.
and Carl A. Keene of San Jose, Calif.;
grandchildren, Ariana M. Baseman,
Jerome Keene and Rachel Keene;
brother and sister-in-law, Harold and
Rita Zaff. Ms. Baseman is also sur-
vived by her dear friends Iry Manson
and Adele Bayer.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Jerry Baseman and the late Leo Hack;
and the cherished sister of the late
Alice Kushner.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be

DR. SEYMOUR E.
BASS, 90, died Nov.

20, 2011.
He was born in
Detroit and lived in
the Metro Detroit
area for nearly 70
years before mov-
ing to Palm Springs,
Calif., and later Chevy Chase, Md.
Dr. Bass, a dentist, was born Dec.
8, 1920, the son of Samuel and Sadie
Bass. He was married to Marcia L. Cole
from 1945 until her death in 1989. He
was a graduate of the University of
Michigan.
Dr. Bass loved golf and Big Band
and classical music and was known
for his outgoing personality.
He is survived by sons, Scott A. Bass
(Elyse E. Jacob) of Baltimore, Md.,
and Gary D. Bass (Suzanne L. Feurt)
of Arlington, Va.; grandsons, Stephen
(Sarah), Brian and Coleman.
Interment was held at the Clover
Hill Park Cemetery in Birmingham.
Contributions may be made to
the Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.

PAULINE BERNSTEIN, 97, of
Tamarac, Fla., died Nov. 19, 2011.
She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Richard and Nina
Bernstein and Ronald and Lynda
Bernstein; daughter and son-in-law,
Doris and Shalom Yehiel; grandchil-
dren, Jeffrey and Trisha Bernstein,
Phillip and Jennifer Bernstein,
Nancy Bernstein and Danielle
Bernstein; great-grandchildren,
Aaron Bernstein, Rachel and Nicole
Bernstein and Kowen Anderson.
Mrs. Bernstein was the lov-
ing sister of the late Ida Kron, the
late Matilda Bolton, the late Sam
Friedberg and the late William
Friedberg.
Interment at Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery.

GERTRUDE BRUSS, 94, of
Southfield, died Nov. 23, 2011.
She was a life member of
Congregation Shaarey Zedek and
Hadassah.
Mrs. Bruss is survived by her
sons and daughters-in-law, Neal
Bruss and Judith Goleman of
Massachusetts, Ken and Lois Bruss
of Massachusetts; grandchildren,
Julia Bruss, Dena and Jay Snyder and
Andrew Bruss; sister, Judy Fridson
of Southfield; nieces, nephews,
grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was the beloved wife of the
late David Bruss; the loving sister of
the late Milford Pregerson; the dear
sister-in-law of the late Fritz Fridson
and the late Sarah Pregerson; the
beloved daughter of the late Aaron
and the late Mary Pregerson.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
