RIBIAT, 70, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Southfield, died Nov. 14, 2011. She was born Sept. 27, 1941, in Carrol, Iowa, and moved to Detroit after finish- ing dental assistant school. In the mid- 1980s, she began a new career as an apartment-leasing specialist, most nota- bly at Knob in the Woods Apartments, where she worked for more than 20 years until her retirement. Mrs. Ribiat enjoyed going to the mov- ies with her friends and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son and daugh- ter-in-law, Steven and Jennifer Ribiat of West Bloomfield; her daughter and son- in-law Leslie and Jim Laird of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren, Avery, Eli and Blake Ribiat, and Liam Laird; her broth- er and sister-in-law, Bruce and Janet Robb of St. Paul, Minn.
