JARC Does The Beatles Annual fundraiser gets crowd in the mood to sing along with the band. ARC presented a one-night-only performance of RAIN: A Tribute To The Beatles for its 31st annual fundraiser on Oct. 18 at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. The performance had the enthusiastic crowd of 3,000 moving and singing along, as the band onstage demon- strated a mastery of every song, gesture and nuance of the legendary foursome, deliver- ing a totally live, note-for-note performance in the multimedia concert. Preceding the performance, the audi- ence was treated to the premiere of A Day in the Life of JARC, a video produced and underwritten by Fran Victor and Bill Harder of Evolution Media. See the video at www.jarc.org . "Understanding the growing needs of the people JARC serves, we set a lofty goal of raising $1.4 million dollars with this event:' fundraiser co-chair Sharon Eisenshtadt told the crowd. "It is with great pleasure that, as of this event, we have raised over $1.2 million dollars. We still have some work ahead us. Gifts are continuing to come in, and we're con- j fident the community will respond to JARC's needs and we will reach our goal." A matching gift challenge by Janis and Larry Shulman of Farmington Hills pro- vided a boost to the event's fundraising efforts. Joining Eisenshtadt as chairs were Ron Applebaum, David Carroll and Lindsay Dembs. Fifth Third Bank served as the event's Corporate Title Sponsor, Gilbert Films the Motion Picture Premiere Sponsor, and Bienenstock Nationwide Court Reporting the Corporate Event Sponsor.
