In 1994, after winning strong recognition as soloists, Yuki and Tomoko melded their artistry
into an award-winning piano duo. They won prizes in several prestigious international
competitions: First and Kodama Prize at the Fourth International Piano Duo Competition in
Tokyo; the Dranoff International Two-Piano Competition in Florida; and the Ellis
Two-Piano National Competition in South Carolina. The Duo has been featured in the
Gilmore International Keyboard Festival in Michigan, the Symposium for Two-Pianos in
Florida and the Quebec International Two-Piano Festival. Frequently, they join the faculty of
the International Summer Music Festival in Naleczow, Poland. The Duo has produced four
highly acclaimed CDs which include a diverse repertoire of one-piano and two-piano works:
Rhapsody, American Mosaic and Fantasy. Their fourth CD, Danse Montage, was been
released in 2009. Yuki 8c, Tomoko Mack are Steinway Artists. The Schmier Chapel Chamber
Series is presented in loving memory of Leslie R. Schmier and Jessica R. Schmier.
