Lake, died Oct. 8, 2011.
Mrs. Friedman was a Sunday school
teacher at Temple Israel and also a
member and volunteer at Hadassah and
the Sholem Aleichem Institute.
She is survived by her sons and
daughters-in-law, Dr. Harold and
Lynda Friedman of West Bloomfield,
Dr. Robert and Gretchen Friedman
of Boise, Idaho, Dr. Neil and Pamela
Friedman of Sylvan Lake, Dr. Paul and
Olga Friedman of Farmington Hills;
grandchildren, Amy and Stuart Brody,
Emily, Benjamin, Julia, Michelle, Heidi,
Sarah, Zachary, Joshua, Nathaniel,
Elizabeth, Gabriel, Tamar and Samuel
Friedman; niece and nephews, Ann and
Hal Goldstein, Martin Surtes.
Mrs. Friedman was the beloved wife
of the late Dr. Joseph Friedman; dear
sister and sister-in-law of the late Reva
and the late Abraham Surtes.

LOTTIE JANOWSKI, 98, of Royal Oak,

died Oct. 4, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Rosaline and Rick Smith of
Royal Oak; grandchildren, Marc Smith,
Linda Smith; niece and nephew, Norma
Fineman and Ron Elkes; great-niece,
Harriet Steele.
Mrs. Janowski was the beloved wife of
the late Maurice Janowski.

Laura and Joe Hines of Detroit; grand-
children, Leonard and Amanda Sherman,
Jack Sherman, Glenn Sherman; great-
granddaughter, Alyssa.
Mrs. Leopold was the beloved wife of
the late Jack Leopold.
