B'nai Mitzvah from page 57

Adam Lutz

Michael Abraham Lutz and Adam
Joshua Lutz will be called to the
Torah as b'nai mitzvah on Saturday,
Oct. 15, at Congregation Shir Tikvah
in Troy. They are the sons of Linda and
Daniel Lutz and brothers of Jacob.
Sharing in the celebration will be
grandparents Sheldon and Gail Lutz
and Sheldon and Mari Kaftan.
Adam and Michael are students at
Derby Middle School in Birmingham.
Their most meaningful mitzvah proj-
ect involved volunteering at Yad Ezra
in Berkley.

Alexa Brooke
Sandler (Ariella) of
West Bloomfield will
be called to the
Torah as a bat mitz-
vah on Saturday, Oct.
15, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek in
Sandler
Southfield. She is the
daughter of Charlene
and Scott Sandler and the sister of
Jessica. Sharing in the simchah will be
her proud grandmother Rosaline
Brenner. She is also the granddaughter
of the late Joseph Brenner and the late
Mildred Sandler and the late Alan
Sandler.
Alexa is a seventh-grade student
at Abbott Middle School in West
Bloomfield. One of her most meaning-
ful mitzvah projects was raising more
than $2,000 for the Susan G. Komen
Race for the Cure to support breast
cancer research.

Jake Matthew
Schultz, son of
Karen Schultz and
Eric Schultz and
brother of Jonah, will
read from the Torah
on the occasion of
his bar mitzvah at
Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield
Saturday, Oct. 15. He is the grandson
of Sylvia and Alvin Schultz, Sandra
Tarnopol and the late Saul Tarnopol.
Jake is a student at East Hills Middle
School in Bloomfield Hills. He felt
helping at Yad Ezra in Berkley was a
meaningful mitzvah project.

Sarah Louise
Timlin, daughter of
Beth and Jim Berk
and sister of George,
will celebrate her bat
mitzvah Saturday,
Oct. 15, during
Havdalah
services at
Timlin
Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield. She
is the grandchild of the late Ruth and
the late George Morris.
Sarah attends Clifford Smart Middle
School in Walled Lake. She felt volun-
teering at Yad Ezra in Berkley was a
very meaningful mitzvah project.

Blake Zack

Joshua Zack

Blake Evan Zack and Joshua
Alexander Zack will share the bimah
at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield
as they read from the Torah during
Havdalah services, Saturday, Oct. 15.
They are the sons of Marla Zack and
the late Steven Zack. Sharing in the
service will be brothers Danny and
Sam and proud grandparents Donna
and Irwin Goren and Myrna Zack.
Their late grandfather is Sam Zack.
Blake attends Eton Academy in
Birmingham and Joshua is a student
at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan
Detroit in Farmington Hills. Among
a wide variety of mitzvah projects,
both Blake and Joshua felt volunteer-
ing at the Franklin Village Labor Day
Roundup was very meaningful.
