NEW YORK — Former Huntington Woods resident Carly Olsman, now living in Chicago, was in New York over Labor Day weekend and ran the 9-11 "Run to Remember" 5k. Olsman decided to run in honor of Terrence Adderley, a Michigander she didn't know but who who died in the attack on the World Trade Center, saying she wanted to honor his memory. The event, now in its 16th year, provides an opportunity for players of all skill levels the chance to play at a well-known golf – course while raising money for tuition assistance to make a Hillel education possible for families who otherwise would not be able to afford one. It was Zack's volunteer and community service, however, that had the most impact, says Hillel Head of School Steve Freedman. Zack's wife, Marla, honored by Hillel's move to rename the golf classic in her husband's memory, said his legacy is embodied by the school's mandate to educate. "I think what made Steven such an inspirational person was that he chose to guide his life by a simple principle; to do good things for family, friends, co-workers and community.
