With the United Nations vote on Palestinian
statehood expected this week, plus the
Durban III ("Zionism equals Racism") confer-
ence also being staged in New York, sup-
porters of Israel have organized a solidarity
demonstration 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday,
Sept. 22.
The rally will take place at the Shops at
Old Orchard Mall, located at the southeast
corner of Maple and Orchard Lake roads in
West Bloomfield. Participants are asked to
bring Israeli and American flags and pro-
Israel signs.
The rally is sponsored by the Zionist
Organization of America-MI, StandWithUs-
MI, Jewish Community Relations Council,
Walk for Israel, Friends of Israel, Friends of
the IDF, Sorel, Shir Shalom Synagogue, Beth
Shalom Synagogue, Congregation Shaarey
