t's not too soon to begin thinking
about next summer — especially
if you're a teen interested in joining
your peers on a once-in-a-lifetime trip
to Israel.
The Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's Teen Mission
2012, the community's eighth teen trip,
will run from July 2-Aug. 3 (dates sub-
ject to change) for Metro Detroit high
school teens currently in grades 9-12.
Teens will have the chance to con-
nect to their Jewish identities, face new
challenges, make new friends and travel
in a hand's-on way. Teens will enjoy
home hospitality in the Central Galilee
(Federation's "home in Israel"), climb the
fortress of Masada, float in the Dead Sea,
participate in special interest groups, pray
at the Kotel and drink tea in a Bedouin
tent on the sands of the Negev desert.
TM12 is a community trip in part-
nership with Metro Detroit Reform
and Conservative congregations and
Tamarack Camps. Detroit teens travel
as a community and share the month-
long experience with Israeli teens from
Federation's Partnership 2000 region,
allowing the creation of lasting connec-
tions.
Space is limited and priority is given
on a first-come, first-served basis. Online
