SYLVIA BLOCK, 80, of Henderson,
Nev., died Aug. 27, 2011.
She is survived by her husband of 59
years, Ronald; daughters, Liz, Lorri and
Debbi; her niece, Sandy August, and dear
friend, Marcia Kalisher, who were like
daughters to her; brother and sister-in-
law, Al and Ida Stein; brother-in-law and
his wife, Marvin and Petra Block. She
leaves behind beloved life-long friends,
numerous relatives and her Detroit Tigers.
She was the loving and devoted moth-
er of the late Nathan David Block; the
loving sister of the late Benny Stein.

discretionary funds at Congregation
Ner Tamid, 55 N. Valle Verde Dr.,
Henderson, NV 89074 or a charity of

WILLIAM W. BROWN, 94, of
Farmington Hills, died Sept. 4, 2011.
He was the owner and founder
of Atlantic Meat Packing located in
Western Market. He was also a partner
in Michigan Shortening Company and a
founder of American Shortening and Oil.
Mr. Brown is survived by his son,
Joel Brown of Bloomfield Hills and his
fiancee, Nancy Peet; daughters and son-
in-law, Adria Brown of West Bloomfield,
Janine and Steven Burke of Southfield;
grandchildren, Robyn Brown, Shawn
Brown and Jeffrey and Cheryl Burke;
great-grandchildren, Owen Forman and
Thisbe Forman; sister, Mildred Weiss.
Mr. Brown was the beloved husband
of the late Vivian Brown; the dear broth-
er-in-law of the late Lawrence Weiss.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

CARR, 61, of
Commerce, died Sept.
1, 2011.
She is survived by
her beloved hus-
band, Randy Carr
of Commerce; sister

niece, Clara (Mark) St. Amour; nephew,
Joel Chinsky; sister-in-law, Elana Carr;
many other loving family members
and friends.
Interment was held at Adat
Shalom Memorial Park in Livonia.
