Shimona's career in alternative education began at 19 as Director of Education
for a national youth group. Trained in Fine Arts and Linguistics at the University
of Witwatersrand, she went on to teach art history at Fonda University in Soweto
before furthering her studies in France, Israel and the United States. Shimona is
considered one of the foremost female authorities on Kabbalah as it applies to
daily life. In 2006 she founded OMEK, a center devoted to in-depth transforma-
tional learning. Shimona is also an author for the world's largest network of adult
learning — the Rohr JU. For over twenty years Shimona's lectures throughout the
world empowering her listeners to shift on a personal and ultimately global level.
