On Sept. 10, a collection of Must's
portraits will make its gallery debut at
the Janice Charach Epstein Gallery in
the Jewish Community Center in West
Bloomfield. The exhibit, titled Triumph
Over Tragedy, will be the kickoff for
Must's nonprofit, A Dime and A Penny
Foundation, formed this year to spearhead
widespread efforts to help people heal
after tragedy.
The exhibit opening, which takes place
from 6:30-8:30 p.m., is free and open to
the public, and several items will be avail-
able for purchase including an auction
of three exquisite photographs by Must.
Proceeds will go to the foundation.
"This is not just a typical photo retro-
spective of survivors:' says Terri Steam,
gallery director. "Monni has tugged at our
hearts, digging deep into the souls of these
people — making sure their stories are
remembered through visual storytelling."
The Sept. 10 exhibit is sponsored by
the Norris Wealth Management Group
at UBS, Lisa and Hannan Lis, Buddy's
Pizza, Dairy Fresh Foods, SkinnyTees and
ASKInYourFace.com as well as the JCC of
Metropolitan Detroit.
The timing coincides with the 10th
anniversary of Sept. 11 for a reason: This
exhibit chronicles the perseverance of
survivors and the strength it takes to con-
tinue on in the wake of unspeakable trag-
edy. Must hopes it will be an inspiration to
everyone who sees it.
"We are honored to support the voices
of the survivors:' says Marja Norris, who,
