She is survived by

Mrs. Radin was the beloved wife of the
late Jules Radin; loving sister of the late
Irving Field, the late Elliot Field, the late
Samuel Field, the late Abraham Field.

ity of one's choice. Interment was at
Adat Shalom Memorial Park in Livonia.

BENNY RUBENFAER, 89, of Delray Beach,
Fla., died Aug. 27, 2011.
He was the devoted father of William
Rubenfaer, Edith Rubenfaer and Marsha
(Sherwin) Schneyer; cherished grandfather
of Stuart (Nancy) Collis, David (Korlyn)
Schneyer, Julie (Steve) Camden, Cheryl
(Michael) Sturt, Jeffrey Schneyer, Richard
(Lisa) Rubenfaer, Renee (Jay) Wolgin and
Jill (Mark) Gross; awesome great-grandfa-
ther of Rochelle Camden, Benjamin, Jacob
and Andrew Schneyer, Rebecca and Brian
Sturt, Alex and Rylie Wolgin, Mason and
Blake Rubenfaer, Mindy and Jason Collis,
and Charlie Gross. He is also survived by

daughter-in-law, Carol Rubenfaer.
He was the beloved husband of the late
Sarah Rubenfaer.

afael Halperin, whose fame in
Israel as a wrestler and body
builder was exceeded only by
the ubiquity of his 128 Israeli eyeglass
stores, died Aug. 20, 2011, at 87 in
Bnei Brak.
His chain, Optica Halperin, began
following Halperin's return to a reli-
gious lifestyle after a colorful career as
a wrestler and bodybuilder.
He won a world championship in
freestyle wrestling and awards in
mandatory Palestine in martial arts,
wrestling and bodybuilding. One story
suggested his interest in bodybuilding
was sparked by an anti-Semitic inci-
dent that drove him to prove that Jews
"were not the nebbishes depicted in
cartoons and comic strips but could
hold their own in a fight"
He used the titles "Mr. Israel" and
"The Rasslin Rabbi" in America,
where he "won" 159 consecutive bouts,
in part because he refused to lose a
match despite the "scripts" followed in
professional wrestling. He also didn't
pander to the crowd because he "came
to America to wrestle representing the
State of Israel and the Jewish people

Upon returning to Israel, he opened
a chain of bodybuilding centers before
