"God is a DJ.
Life is a dance floor.
Love is the rhythm.
You are the music."

Dance City is where kids dance...

to dream... to Iaugh...to pretend...to express...
to have fun.

Your Child is a Star when they walk onto the floating wood

floor with wall-to-wall mirrors and bright lights. Right away, the
magic happens. Add music and a rock star is born. A ballerina
takes flight. A hip-hop dude acts out the rap.

Perky Parking Lots
from page 29

"I like to use pretty flowers and
create gardens that are fun and do
not take themselves too seriously',' she
said. "However, I also knew that they
would need to stand up to the abuse
of shopping carts, snow plows, lack of
irrigation and road salt spray — and
be low maintenance. This wasn't going
to replace formal gardens, but it is a
great way to turn something ugly into
something pretty"
Rosenhaus met with Ramco
Gershenson who hired her to install
her innovative "rain gardens" in the
courtyard section (Bed Bath and
Beyond, Marshall's) of Hunters Square
shopping center on Orchard Lake and
14 Mile roads in Farmington Hills.
Instead of using brown bark mulch,
she used different kinds of stone:
crushed granite, slate chips, quartz
and fieldstone. Each island is concave:
in the center part of the bowl, she
used Blue Flag iris and hydrangeas
and along the banks are roses and
ornamental grasses; along the rim
and perimeter are drought- and salt-
tolerant sedums, and salt-tolerant
red fescue sod. Instead of using bark
mulch, they sprinkled Dutch white
clover. Farmers use it as a cover crop
because it produces its own nitrogen
and will fertilize the plants naturally
adding no cost or labor.
Garden Designs brings the same
use of sustainable practices to its
residential hardscape and landscape
projects. By integrating dropped bed
heights, improved lawn seed and
bioswales for water-wise landscap-
ing, Garden Designs creates beautiful,
easier-to-care-for gardens that use
native plants and require less watering
and maintenance.
Andy Jacob, president of
Moutainview Properties, said, "She is
sensitive to a commercial property
owner's need to have landscaping
that is easy to maintain while creat-
ing a design that is attractive and
eye-popping. I also like that she can
bring the job in on time and at/or
under budget."
Rosenhaus grew up in a
Conservative Jewish home in the
small town of Auburn, Maine. She
attended the University of Montana,
Parsons School of Design and
Michigan State University's Master
Gardener program. Always a pioneer
at heart, Rosenhaus persuaded Rabbi
Aaron Bergman to allow her daugh-
ter Alex, now 27, to be the first bat
mitzvah at Beth Ahm to read from
the Torah. Her daughter Anna, 21,
and son, Max, 25, traveled to Israel
with Birthright in March 2011, where
they experienced the same enthusi-
asm for sustainable gardening prac-
tices. Li
