The Jewish Community Center of
Metropolitan Detroit's Janice Charach
Gallery in West Bloomfield is accepting
submissions for its November exhibit,
"Shoes, Purses and Mah Jong: A Few of
Our Favorite Things."
Artists may send in for consideration
any work focusing on shoes, purses or
mah jong either individually or in any
combination. Art may be two- or three-
dimensional in any medium. Artists are
limited to seven submissions and will
set their own price.
All submissions are due the week
of Monday, Oct.17. Drop-off hours are
Monday-Thursday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

'Dream Shabbat' At
Woodward Ave. Shul
During the Woodward Dream Cruise,
the Woodward Avenue Shul will host a
"Dream Shabbat."
The Cafe will feature a kosher Chinese
menu by chef Barry Schlussel Friday,
Aug. 19, at 7:30 p.m. Adults, $20/ chil-
dren under 12, $10.
The Dream Kiddush, a complimen-
tary open house, will be noon, Saturday,
Aug. 20.

NCJW Aids Youth With
Its 'Teen Yellow Pages'
As teenagers face hard questions and
decisions in their life, the National
Council of Jewish Women, Greater
Detroit Section (NCJW) has recently
published its Teen Yellow Pages.
The directory, in print and online at
www.teenyellowpages.org, focuses on
critical topics and offers information,
websites and contact numbers of services.
Topics include adoption, divorce, employ-
ment legal rights, eating disorders, depres-
sion, pregnancy and sexual abuse.
"We wanted to ensure that teens
have the information needed to make
informed, individual decisions;' said
Susan Gertner, NCJW executive director.

Sought For Honors
Former TV host Larry King, actor Liev
Schreiber and filmmaker Edward Zwick
have produced a public service announce-
ment seeking Jewish Holocaust-era parti-
sans and their families. There were 20,000-
30,000 Jews who fought back against the
Nazis and saved thousands of lives while
thwarting the war machine.
The Jewish Partisan Educational
Foundation is paying tribute to these
individuals at a benefit in New York
