'Hoop It Up' To Help Yad Ezra

Chloe Logan
Jewish News Intern

A

din Kleinfeldt, 9, of Huntington Woods is a fan
of Yad Erza, the kosher food pantry in Berkley.
To contribute to its mission, last year he did a
home-based fundraiser. This year, he's stepping up the
action.
"Last year, I did a lemonade stand for Yad Ezra;' Adin
said. "I volunteer there sometimes, and also think it's a
good charity."
The success of Adin's lemonade stand was his main
inspiration to host another fundraiser. However, he also
wanted to make this mitzvah fun and engaging for every-
one.
"I like hula hooping, so I thought it would be a fun way
to raise money," Adin said. He will host a Hula-Hoop-A-
Thon to benefit Yad Ezra at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at his
home, 13000 Victoria Ave., Huntington Woods.
This fundraiser is open to all ages. Participants commit
to 30 minutes or 60 minutes of hula hooping, and must
raise at least $20 in sponsor money. The recommended
donation amount for sponsors is $5 for 30 minutes and
$10 for 60 minutes. All money should be collected prior
to the event, and checks can be made out to Yad Ezra.
Additionally, participants are asked to provide their own
hula hoops.
Although the hula-hoop contest will be the event's main
activity; there will also be other fun contests, such as the
silliest hula-hoop move.
"Somebody heard about this and said they were going
to donate prizes, so there will be prizes, too!" Adin said.

Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 7 p.m. I I
